insistence/persistence

photo and text: Liz Nofziger

- body, bones, and spikes working together as impromptu stethoscope, gathering and amplifying sounds from the path to overlay with those in the world and in my ears

- a dimensional drawing, or expansive swift-scaled wagon-load of walled in filthy snow and slush. collected from the neighborhoods and brought together to hold on as long as the temperature allows. Gorgeous, hideous, charcoal chiaroscuro on its back...smog caught taking a rest

- Can you hear me? Can you hear me? Can you hear me? CAN YOU HEAR ME? the insistence/persistence of a six time burner

- considering the complexity of care, working to appreciate the banal

- thoughts of my mom, who would've turned 76 the 13th, now half my life without her

- imagining the bullfrogs' song and bulbous stares, hoping they'll return

- effervescent footprints captured — sparkling, flame form, and crazed crackle amber

- the pleasure of a good mutt

- bear tracks
